Wild Horses

These majestic beasts may hold no sway over Mick Jagger, but The Saltery Creek Wild Horses are sure to drag you away the from fishing for a closer look.

Anglers wandering close to the ocean will likely encounter one of a handful of feral horses that graze on wild grasses. The origins of the horses is unclear, but on any given season we typically see from one to six horses gathered in nuclear family units, down by the beach. One horse in particular has become a defacto lodge pet; a large Palomino named Wallace who always seems to make the scenery even more picturesque.
