Though Sockeye fishing in July and the September Silver salmon tend to steal all the Saltery Lake thunder, August is when Saltery really comes to life. This is the perfect time of the year to catch a wide variety of species, including late-run Sockeye and early-run Coho. The bears come down to the water from all around to feast on spawning fish, the dollies are in full swing, and the less appreciated Pink and Chum salmon arrive in droves. August marks the peak of summer and wet-wading is an option for those who want to shed their waders for a spell.

If you're looking to get away with the family, or just want to catch a dozen different species of fish, August is a perfect time to book a trip to Saltery Lake Lodge.
